We planned for this, or so we thought.

It is a special day for each high school senior who comes to experience Chy Creative. We do not take that responsibility lightly. In fact, our senior shoots are thought out and planned months in advance.

Why? Why spend so much time on the process of getting to know a high school senior just wanting photos because it’s required for yearbook?

I truly believe that taking time to build a relationship with our client allows us to capture their true candid, unique spark. We watch time and time again as their confidence swells and they discover a beauty within them otherwise missed.

We plan location. We plan wardrobe. We plan equipment and pull permits. But what we leave up to fate is the thrill of self discovery and the journey that brought us all together.

It’s just part of how I serve.

Being creative is a practiced talent. I hear from so many of my friends, “I’m just not creative like you”. But then I find that when I put random paints or items in front of them, they find inspiration and suddenly find themselves zoned into something they’ve never identified with, being creative.

I make an intentional decision to set time aside to be creative, it’s just grounding. Before every senior shoot, I give myself time to conceptualize and create something handmade (new video releasing soon).

Never doubt that you have the power to be creative!💛

The classes of 2020 and 2021 will endure hard things unlike any other class. This is the time to dig deep and find inner strength. Believe that tucked within every disappointment is an opportunity to overcome and grow.
