Kids are my JAM! I have them myself and I love working with them! As a mama, I know that kids can be shy OR completely wild (like my own kids)! As a new “friend” of the family, I enjoy getting to know each child prior to our photoshoot.
My assistant and I have lots of experience together when it comes to working with kids. She actually used to be my nanny so we jive really well together! Whether the session calls for “bubbles in your mouth,” giggle tabs or special prizes from our treasure box… we work hard to pull out all of the stops!
Our kids deserve to be celebrated on the walls of our homes, not just on our iPhones.
Studies show that when a child sees themselves displayed on the walls of their home it gives them a sense of belonging, security and confidence! One of the hidden but powerful aspects of family photography that moms and most photographers rarely consider is how it can help us raise children with stronger confidence in their own worth and abilities. Psychologists and experts have done some work in recent decades exploring the link.
“I think it is really important to show a family as a family unit. It is so helpful for children to see themselves as a valued and important part of that family unit. A photographer’s job is to create and make the image look like a safe holding space for kids where they are safe and protected. Kids get it on a really simple level.”David Krauss, a licensed psychologist from Cleveland, Ohio
I am passionate about creating a memorable experience that your entire family will remember and be able to celebrate over and over again with the artwork displayed in your home.
